Dear colleagues!

We invite you to take part in the work of the international workshop for young scientists "Functional materials for technical and biomedical applications", which is a continuation of the famous workshop "Scintillation Processes and Materials for the Registration of Ionizing Radiation".

This event will take place on October 14 - 16, 2025 on the territory of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.

Thematic areas:

1. Technology of obtaining functional materials
2. Physical properties and application of functional materials
3. Nanotechnologies and nanomaterials
4. Luminescent technologies in biology and medicine

The offline registration of the participants of the workshop begins on October 14, 2025 at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv by the address: Lviv, to be discussed.

Participants of the workshop can be all young scientists, specialists and Ph.D. students.

The scientific program of the workshop includes lectures by leading experts on critical problems of crystal growth, application of functional materials, physics of nanosized systems, application of luminescent methods in medical diagnostics and biological research.

Participants of the workshop have an opportunity to present their original scientific results in the form of oral messages (up to 15 minutes).
Participants of the workshop are welcome to submit the full-length papers which, after the peer-review procedure, will be considered for publication in the “Visnyk of Lviv University. Series Physical”, “Journal of Physical Studies” (Q4) and "Functional Materials" (Q4).

Working languages of the workshop: English, Ukrainian.

For participation you need to fill in the registration form on the web-site of the workshop school.isma.kharkiv.ua and submit the abstract of the report, according to the requirements to the e-mail: school-seminar@isma.kharkiv.ua

The deadline for the registration and submission of abstracts is August 31, 2025.

The workshop will be held with the support of the TWISMA project (Funded by the European Union Horizon Europe Programme Grant Agreement #101078960) and society Optica (formerly OSA), Advancing Optics and Photonics Worldwide.

Expenses related to payment of tickets (to the city of Kharkiv and back), food and accommodation are borne by the participants and organizations that sent them.
